A spittoon and old blue drawer handles remind me of  Morocco.  The deliberate hammered in holes in the brass allow soft yellow light to pour out of the vessel throwing spots  like a diamond ring.

The stars on the underbelly of this chandelier correlate with its embellishments, a toy elephant and antique spectacles.  I imagined a  Grandfather, pipe in palm, seated in his library peering down above his spectacles at his young grandson, trodding his mighty elephant across a scarlet Persian rug.

Reed and Barton silver soldered fondue pot and burner bowl, antique glass crystals and the hay bailing wire I employ like rice in India, form this whimsical piece.
