Welcome to Cake Rocket. My name is Shulamith Walker,
engineer of chandeliers. My family and I live in the great state of Texas. I declare I am somewhat silly over
Texas. More aptly put, I am moon eyed. I think about Davey Crocket and John Wayne a little more often than most
and I compare almost everywhere, even Paris, Paris France, to Tejas. It is a bar, set. My amour for this terra
offers a bit of context to the following pages. It isn't that the pieces are specifically western or cowboy, but they
are unique and comprised of many an old Texas find. That context duly noted, the greater is my family. They are excellent
chandelier enthusiasts, brimming with council I am eager to hear and heed. Having trod their little feet, my daughters',
o'er many a dirty path seeking a piece of forgotten rusted metal, they have earned a well respected say in our business.
I have shown a partiality to rust and antiquity and conversely to glitter and seam binding. My family supports me in
these proclivities and I hope you too are interested.
I do not have many rules about our lighting. I hope they are beautiful, interesting, edifying.
The main rule is that these pieces be wired correctly and that they be made to a safe standard. Our lighting has graced
corporate facilities and stores as far away as Russia and Hawaii. ABC Home and Carpet in Manhattan has purchased many
of our pieces, and designers have favoured us. "Straw Hat" was photographed for Mary Englebreit's "Home
Companion Magazine" and can be seen in the October/November 2007 issue in the article "Out on a Whim" about
Carol Hicks Bolton. Many of the pieces seen on the reference pages have gone to Homestead for the Carol Hicks Bolton
Line featured with E.J. Victor. Some of our most beautiful pieces have been purchased by Turkey Ridge Company and Beulah's.
